What Happens During Our First Meeting

The attorney you hire matters. At The Law Offices of Ronda A. Middleton in Fullerton, we understand how difficult this decision is. That is why we have put together a list of what happens when you meet with us to help address your questions and to help you prepare for our first meeting.

What To Expect At Our First Meeting

During our consultation, we will get to know you, learn about your family and the specific issues related to your family law case. We will learn about your goals for the future and explain what steps we can take to help you achieve those goals.

Some of the initial questions we will ask you include:

  • How long have you been married?
  • Are you already separated?
  • Where are both of you living?
  • Are both parties working?
  • What property, assets and debts do you have?
  • Do you own a business or rental properties?
  • Do you have any children?
  • If so, the ages of the children and who is the primary caretaker?

Once we are retained, we will get to work on your case right away. This includes filing your divorce petition with the court and serving papers to the other party. We work towards finding a settlement that works for all parties to save you time, money and reduce stress. However, litigation may be necessary in some cases, and we are not afraid to take your case to trial to protect your best interests.

Your Options For Divorce

You have options when it comes to your divorce. Mediation may be a viable option if you and your spouse have amicably split, and can reach an agreement. Our Same Day Solution process can save you time and money by reaching an agreement on all issues in one day. This simplified process is not for everyone, but it is beneficial for couples who get along and want to resolve their divorce in an uncontested and efficient manner.

A Lawyer Who Cares About You

We are dedicated to helping you through your divorce so you can move on with your life. We understand the family law system in California and how to properly plan for your case. We will guide you through this process so you know what to expect and what options are available. Schedule your free consultation by calling or fill out our online form to get started.
